Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez are continuing despite the two clubs being adamant to not changing their current stances according to a report from Spanish football journalist Francesc Aguilar, who works for Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona do not want to pay any more than €65 million plus two players for the 22-year-old Argentine national team striker whilst Inter want between €80-90 million plus a single player if a player plus cash deal is to be done.

The reigning Spanish champions have already got an agreement over personal terms with the player but Aguilar goes on to explain that this has not stopped Inter from demanding that his €111 million release clause is paid, concluding that negotiations are ongoing with both clubs “in a poker game” to call each others bluff.

Until the release clause expires, there will be no room for negotiation on the price they want for Lautaro, who joined back in 2018 from Racing Club.

This season Lautaro has made 32 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 16 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
