Mario Corso’s funeral will take place tomorrow in the basilica of Sant’Ambrogio in Milan according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Inter legend sadly passed away over the weekend aged 78-years-old and the funeral is scheduled to begin at 11am local time.
Inter commemorated the Grande Inter star by holding a minute silence prior to last night’s 2-1 Serie A win over lowly Sampdoria and the Nerazzurri also work black armbands too as a sign of respect.
Corso spent some 16 years with Inter between 1957 and 1973 and made over 500 appearances in total for the club. Corso, who spent three of those seasons as Inter’s club captain, scored a total of 97 goals for the club and won a lot of silverware during his time with the club too as he won four Serie A titles, two European cups, two Intercontinental cups.
He also spent a period managing Inter between 1985 and 1986.
