In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have stated that there is a different meaning behind both Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s goals in last night’s win over Sampdoria.

Lukaku opened the scoring for Inter after just 10 minutes played and Lautaro doubled Inter’s lead at San Siro just past the half hour mark.

This was the first time that the duo had scored in the same game as one another since January 6, where they each scored in a 3-1 win away to Napoli.

The report goes on to explain that Lukaku’s goals have almost always meant that Inter win. In the 13 league games he has scored in, only once have Inter failed to pick up all three points. The game they failed to win, they drew 2-2 with Parma.

It goes on to add that Lautaro’s goal meanwhile represents a new beginning in the relationship between himself and the club amid ongoing speculation in the media linking him with a move to Inter.
