Italian Media Highlight’s Inter’s Dreams Of Winning The Serie A As ‘A Mirage’

The Serie A title is now a mirage for Inter following last night’s result against Sassuolo according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter had a slim chance at title glory heading into last night’s affair but having drawn 3-3 and with league leaders Juventus winning, Inter have now slid eight points behind their arch rivals which now seems to be an insurmountable difference for Antonio Conte’s men.

Inter made no less than five changes to the starting line-up that started in this past weekend’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria and were made to pay for the decision to rotate so heavily with them unable to kill the game off with the large majority of the side being back-up options.

The midfield in particular suffered with Borja Valero and Roberto Gagliardini finding themselves countered often and seemingly unable to do anything about it. The report suggests Marcelo Brozovic could have made a difference had he been available.
