Inter are interested in signing Bayern Munich full back David Alaba to finish their strengthening of the wingback department, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sportitalia earlier today.
The report details how the Nerazzurri are close to securing a deal for Real Madrid full back Achraf Hakimi, and now are looking to strengthen their left wing back position, a role mostly occupied by Ashley Young and Cristiano Biraghi. The ideal player would be the 28-year-old Alaba, who is comfortable playing as both a full back and centre back.
Alaba’s contract expires in 2021 and the player is considering a change, the report continues, in part due to the explosion of Alphonso Davies on the scene, who has limited the Austrian’s playing time. The deal would be difficult to achieve due to strong competition for his signature, but Inter are still considering the operation. Alaba has scored one goal and provided two assists in 36 appearances this season.
