Roma To Fend Off Inter’s Interest In Edin Dzeko By Offering Post Career Directorial Role

Roma have a plan to repel Inter’s interest in Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are interested in the 34-year-old Bosnian forward, who is contracted to the Giallorossi until 2022. Coach Antonio Conte wanted to sign the player last summer but a deal never materialised, with the player instead signing a three-year deal with Roma. Despite that, Inter are looking at signing the player again in the summer.

Roma won’t even consider the idea of selling Dzeko, the report continues, and the club will offer the player a career in management at the end of his career. In 2022 Dzeko will be 36 years old and will be able to choose his future, including the possibility of taking that job. The former Manchester City striker has scored 17 goals and provided nine assists in 33 appearances so far this season.
