In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have pointed out that referee Massimiliano Irrati made several mistakes in last night’s 2-2 draw between Hellas Verona and Inter at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

One of his biggest mistakes was his failure to dish out a second yellow card to Hellas Verona midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, especially on the hour mark when he fouled Ashley Young.

He escaped punishment much to the annoyance of Inter manager Antonio Conte and the Inter coaching staff and assistant manager Cristian Stellini ended up getting booked for his complaints.

Inter fell behind early doors against the Gialloblu club and performed poorly in the first half but came out a different team in the second half. Inter quickly took the lead but were unable to kill the game off and this cost them as Miguel Veloso scored late on to secure a point for the hosts.
