Cagliari manager Walter Zenga has revealed that the Rossoblu club will miss Radja Nainggolan for various reasons in the remainder of the season.
Zenga confirmed that Nainggolan’s season was over in the past few days and has called on the rest of his team to step up in the absence of the Belgian, who returned to the Sardinian club on a season long loan from Inter this past Summer.
“The fact that Radja is an important player in terms of tactics, personality and leadership, it is nothing I am finding out,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“Without him, the team must take more responsibility, of course. Now, we have a squad of 14 to 15 players and we must continue with them until the end.”
Nainggolan has performed well whilst at the Rossoblu club and there has been no shortage of speculation when it comes to his future.
Many reports have stated Cagliari would like to keep him even if the financial effort required could be too much for them whilst other reports have stated that he could be used as part of a deal for another player by Inter.
Some have even suggested that the former Roma player could be reintegrated into the first team picture at Inter for next season.
