Inter are still interested in signing Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gunners coach Mikel Arteta is clearly unsure whether the player will renew his contract with the North London club or not, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.
The report details how, after the 31-year-old Gabonese striker’s strong performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals yesterday, coach Mikel Arteta remained hopeful but uncertain that the player would remain with the club.
“When I talk to him, he seems quite convinced,” the 38-year-old Spaniard stated yesterday, adding “It’s clear that the more successful the team is, the more we can see the positive path the club has taken and the more he can be convinced of our project.”
Aubameyang’s contract expires with Arsenal at the end of next season, the report continues, and so if he doesn’t renew his contract with the North London club then it’s likely that he will be sold this summer, in order to earn as much as possible on the 31-year-old.
The Gabonese striker has scored 25 goals and provided two assists in 41 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
