Inter haven’t given up in the race to sign Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, despite Lazio’s burning desire to sign the Albanian defender, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the Nerazzurri recently started new talks with the Gialloblu regarding the 20-year-old Albanian centre back, who is contracted to the Veneto based club until 2022.
The intention is to speed up a deal that would bring Kumbulla to Inter this summer in a permanent deal, before sending the player back on loan to Verona next season in order to gain more regular playing time.
Kumbulla has impressed in his debut season in Serie A, the report continues, and Lazio are also working hard to sign the promising young defender.
The 20-year-old Albanian has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2078 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
