Shamrock Rovers starlet Kevin Zefi is close to a move to Inter, with the Nerazzurri hoping to beat out the Italian competition for the 15-year-old Irish forward, according to a report from Irish tabloid the Sun yesterday.
The report details how the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the 15-year-old, who rose to prominence last year after scoring twice in Ireland U-15’s 3-1 win over England U-15 in December.
The player then scored a month later in a 2-0 win over Australia’s U-17 squad. The Irish forward was invited to train with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in March, but the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic forced the teenager to stay at home.
Juventus have also been interested in Zefi, the report continues, but Inter are hoping to beat out their competition and secure his signature. The Milanese club have identified the need to strengthen their youth set up to provide players adequate for the first team.
