A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport analysed two contentious moments in Inter’s 3-0 win over Genoa last night.

The report begins by detailing how in the first half there was a challenge between Genoa forward Andrea Pinamonti and Nerazzurri midfielder Roberto Gagliardini. The Inter man called hand ball but images show that the ball actually struck his arm first, and considering his foot placement and where his arm was, that could have been a potential penalty.

Inter striker Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in the 34th minute, the report continues, and Genoa defender Cristián Zapata claimed that he was fouled by the 27-year-old Belgian forward. It seems as if the player went down too softly for it to be a foul.

The Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win over Genoa last night means that they are now second place in the table, one point ahead of third place Atalanta.
