Inter could offer Lautaro Martinez a contract worth half as much as one Barcelona have offered him according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

The La Liga powerhouses have been courting the highly rated 22-year-old striker for a long time and have offered him a contract worth €12 million a year, which is significantly more than what he currently earns at Inter.

The report from Il Giornale goes on to explain that Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta could meanwhile offer a contract with an annual salary of €6 million to the former Racing Club player, who is tempted by the offer receieved from Barcelona.

This season Lautaro, who is already under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 43 appearances across all competitions to date.

In his time on the park, which totals just over 3200 minutes, Lautaro has scored 18 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
