Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Marco Bellinazzo has admitted to being skeptical about recent media speculation that has seen Barcelona captain Lionel Messi be linked with a potential move to Inter.

Various reports in the Italian media as of late have linked the multi-time world player of the year with a move to the Nerazzurri seeing as his current contract with Barcelona is due to expire at the end of the upcoming season and there are currently doubts as to whether he will extend his stay with the Catalan club, who he has spent his entire career with.

The 33-year-old Argentine national team player is widely regaded as one of the greatest footballers of all time and has won multiple world player of the year awards during his career. In 729 appearances for Barcelona, Messi has scored 633 goals and provided 285 assists for his teammates.

“The question is not so much if Suning can afford a salary of about €80 million, even if in any case it would create some financial problems. I can hardly see Messi in a different shirt than that of Barça,” Bellinazzo explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 during their show ‘Tutto Convocati’ yesterday evening.
