Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has matched former Newcastle United striker Alan Sherer’s record for consecutive games with a goal in the Europa League sports data and analytics company Opta have highlighted.
Lukaku scored Inter’s first goal in the Europa League last 16 match-up with Getafe at the Arena Auf’Schalke on Wednesday night and this was the eighth straight Europa League game Lukaku has scored in.
Shearer, who Lukaku now shares the record with, achieved the feat back in 2005.
