Lazio have identified Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla as their top transfer target for the defence, whilst Inter have slowed down due to other options tempting them, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the fight for the 20-year-old Albanian defender will come down to the Biancocelesti and the Nerazzurri, with the Milanese club already reaching personal terms with the player.

The Roman club are still focusing on securing the player’s signature, whilst Inter have begun to explore other options. Verona may choose to accept Lazio’s offer, the report continues, which is €20 million plus André Anderson.

The Biancocelesti are pushing to complete the deal as soon as possible in order to beat the Nerazzurri to his signature. The 20-year-old Albanian defender made 26 appearances across all competitions this season, helping the side keep seven clean sheets and scoring one goal.
