There is little hope when it comes to the possibility of Alexis Sanchez being available for Inter for the Europa League final should they make it that far according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

In Monday’s 2-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter finals of the competition, Sanchez sustained an injury which Inter yesterday confirmed as a right hamstring strain.

Sanchez is set to miss this coming Monday’s semi final against Shakhtar Donetsk and he would be a serious doubt for the final, which Inter will play in on August 21 if they beat the Ukranian side.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that Christian Eriksen could be the man called upon to replace Sanchez.

Eriksen had a good half an hour against Bayer Leverkusen off of the substitutes bench and whilst he could start, he might perhaps be more decisive coming off of the bench.
