Only one strike force in Inter’s history have managed to score more goals in a single season for Inter than Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have managed this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Lukaku and Lautaro have combined for 54 goals between them this season, the second best tally in Europe this season with Bayern Munich duo Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry having combined for 75.

Antonio Valentín Angelillo and Eddie Firmani are the only Inter strike force to have managed to outrscore Lukaku and Lautaro with Angelilo and Firmani combining for a highly impressive 70 goals back in the 1958/59 season.

István Nyers and Servaas ‘Fass’ Wilkes scored 54 goals between them in 1950/51 and Lukaku and Lautaro could well surprass them with them still having one game left to play this season.

The report goes on to state that Lukaku and Lautaro have managed to score some great Inter strike forces including Adriano and Obafemi Martins and Diego Milito and Samuel Eto’o among many others.
