Inter captain and number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has revealed that he and his teammates are feeling calm ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League final versus Sevilla.

“We have lived this match like any other since we have been here in Düsseldorf,” Handanovic explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of the match with the interview shared a short time ago.

“We are doing well, we feel good. We are aware of the value of the final, but it is nothing too different from the previous matches, which we faced with the right spirit. We feel calm.”

He was then asked if there is a favourite team for the match at the RheinEnergieSTADION in Cologne, Germany, which is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time.

“In my view there is not a real one on paper between the two sides, even more so since it is a one off match. Sevilla may have more experience in Europe than us, but we will both play openly.”

The experienced Slovenian shot-stopper, who has just under a year left on his contract, concluded by adding: “This is a starting point for all of us, it has to be. These type of matches must become a habit for us, we must be fighting for important trophies.”

Handanovic joined Inter in the Summer of 2012 from fellow Serie A club Udinese and he has since went on to make close to 350 appearances across all competitions to date for the club.

During the course of the 2019/20 season, the 36-year-old goalkeeper has made 47 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has managed to keep a total of 16 clean sheets.
