Inter remain ahead of all others in the race to sign Brescia central midfielder Sandro Tonali according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Nerazzurri club have been courting Tonali for some time and have reportedly already agreed personal terms with the player.

Juventus have also shown an interest in signing him but the report goes on to state that they have already identified an alternative player that they can move for other than Tonali.

Newly appointed Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo wants his midfield department improved. Arthur has already arrived from Barcelona whilst Blaise Matuidi and Miralem Pjanic have both left and Sami Khedira is expected to leave soon too.

Pirlo wants to rejuvenate the midfield and have more dynamism in the department and the Bianconeri club have identified Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli as an ideal alternative to Tonali.

Juventus have good relations with Sassuolo and Locatelli will cost between €25-30 million, which is less than what Tonali is expected to go for.
