Inter manager Antonio Conte is a victim in an alleged investment scam according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Conte entrusted London based financial promoter Massimo Bochicchio with huge investments alongside many other high profile people and has lost no less than €30.6 million. It is thanks largely to Conte that a legal battle has now began in the United Kingdom.

Bochicchio took advantage of his past at HSBC, one of the largest investments banks in the world, to carry out investments via his company, Kidman. Money should have been given to investors by June 30 but none of those who invested have seen a penny since.

It is understood that Bochicchio convinced investors to invest by stating that HSBC were in on the deal as well although HSBC were never in on it and have denied any and all involvement.

Documents that Bochicchio provided investors proved to be fake and it was Conte who brought it to the attention of judges.

Bochicchio, who has €60 million in assests, including luxury properties around the world among other things, now risks having his assets seized if he does not return the money.
