Max Allegri could replicate the way he succeeded Antonio Conte at Juventus if he takes over from Conte at Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
When Allegri was drafted in at the last minute in place of Conte at Juventus, he continued with Conte’s 3-5-2 for a few months before swapping to his preferred 4-2-3-1 system and history could repeat itself if he took charge at Inter.
The report goes on to explain that Christian Eriksen could become central to Inter’s project under Allegri’s stewardship and playing Nicolo Barella and Sandro Tonali behind him should guarantee dynamism from him.
The Milan based news outlet goes on to add that rather than utilise wing-back Achraf Hakimi as a full back in a four man back-line, Allegri could in fact play Hakimi on the right wing.
The back four will also be good for enhancing the characteristics of both Diego Godin and Milan Skriniar, assuming they both stay, as well as Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni.
In the event Allegri goes for a 4-3-3 system, the report concludes that Mario Mandzukic could be brought in to provide cover on the left hand side.
