Inter have excluded a move for Roma captain Edin Dzeko as they look to find themselves a fourth choice striking option to complete their attack according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sebastiano Esposito is widely expected to leave the club on loan and therefore Inter need a fourth choice striker but rather than pursue a move for Dzeko, who Inter have been linked with for well over a year, this report explains that Inter are instead seeking a low cost option in order to complete the attack.

Reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Roma want a sum in the region of €15 million for Dzeko, who is due to turn 35-years-old in March.

Former Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic, who is currently a free agent, has been linked with a move to Inter as have the likes of Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca and Sampdoria’s Federico Bonazzoli.
