Cagliari Loanee Radja Nainggolan: “I Have To Return To Inter & Then We’ll See”

Inter central midfielder Radja Nainggolan has adopted a wait and see approach when it comes to his immediate future with him set to return to the club from a season long loan at fellow Serie A club Cagliari.

Nainggolan spent the past season on loan at Cagliari after he was told he was no longer considered as part of Inter’s project and there have been contrasting reports in the media with regard to his future.

“I finished the loan and I have to go back and then we’ll see. Luckily I have already done a week of training here. Today is my last day as a Cagliari player,” he explained in an Instagram Live chat with former teammate Lorenzo Ariaudo, who is now at Frosinone, earlier on today.

Ariaduo continued the chat by questioning Nainggolan on whether he knows anything about Inter having an interest in bringing Barcelona’s Lionel Messi to the club: “I do not know the dynamics but in the end he will stay at Barcelona.”

He was then asked whether or not he would like the multi-time world player of the year to be a teammate of his at Inter: “No, I do not want to play with him [laughs]. He is too strong.”

In the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Nainggolan made 29 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates in just under 2300 minutes in total on the park.
