Inter have knocked back an offer from Cagliari for central midfielder Radja Nainggolan according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta met with Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini earlier on today to hold discussions over Nainggolan, who spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Cagliari.

In the meeting Cagliari presented Inter with a first offer for Nainggolan but the Nerazzurr club rejected the offer, the details of which were not disclosed in the report from Sky Sport Italia.

Nainggolan’s loan deal with Cagliari is due to expire at midnight tonight so he will return to Milan, awaiting for new developments in negotiations between the two clubs.

The report concludes that if Arturo Vidal is to arrive at Inter, possibly on a free transfer once he has freed himself from Barcelona, Inter’s stance on Nainggolan could well change.
