There is great interest from Serie B in Inter central defender Lorenzo Pirola according to a report from Italian football journalist and transfer market expert Nicolo Schira.

As per Schira’s report, half of Serie B have shown an interest in taking the Italian youth national team player on loan in the coming season.

Inter’s fellow Serie A club Sassuolo have meanwhile shown an interest in signing Pirola on a permanent basis but Inter manager Antonio Conte does not wish to let Pirola go permanently.

Schira explains that Conte does not want to lose Pirola as he believes in him and would like to keep growing him as a player in the Inter first team.

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Pirola made his Inter first team debut as he made a cameo appearance in the 4-0 away win over SPAL. The highly rated 18-year-old, who has been linked with Manchester City in the past, is under contract with Inter until 2025.

Schira took to social media platform Twitter to share his report and posted: “Half of Serie B asked Inter about loaning promising central defender Lorenzo Pirola. Sassuolo tested the ground to buy him outright, but for now Antonio Conte made a wall. He believes in the 2002 born player and would like to keep him growing in the first team.”
