Cagliari Director Passetti On Inter Owned Nainggolan: “Our Wish Is Clear, No Agreement Has Been Found”

Cagliari director Mario Passetti has revealed that the Rossoblu club are wanting to bring Radja Nainggolan to the club but are taking necessary precautions in the event that they are unable to bring him back.

Nainggolan spent the duration of the 2019/20 season on loan at the Sardinia based Rossoblu club who have certainly not hidden their desire to have the Belgian stay with the club.

“The player has been with Inter since September 1st, I believe that Cagliari’s wishes are clear,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcasted a short time ago.

“Our idea is to continue enjoying his performances, but no agreement has yet been found for this to happen. We would like to [have him back at us], but we are building a team to make up for his absence.”

During his loan spell at the Sardegna Arena, 32-year-old Nainggolan made 29 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just under 2300 minutes, he scored six goals and provided seven assists for his teammates.

Nainggolan joined Inter back in the Summer of 2018 in a players plus cash deal from fellow Serie A side Roma and has just under two years left to run on his current contract with the club.
