Inter linked Mohamed Fares is close to finalizing a move to Lazio, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.
The report details how the 24-year-old Algerian was almost a Nerazzurri player last summer, before a serious knee injury in August caused the deal to collapse.
The Biancocelesti have been working to sign the player for some time now and are set to close out a deal for him worth €8 million plus €1.5 million in add-ons, offering the player a five-year contract starting at €1.5 million per season.
Last week Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio met with SPAL to offer them a loan deal worth €3 million, with an obligation to buy attached worth €7 million should the club qualify finish in the top 4 next season, the report continues.
The player was offered a five-year contract worth €1.4 million net per season. Initially Fares preferred to join the Nerazzurri, but the Milanese club’s offer wasn’t enough to convince SPAL, who were happier with an immediate payment.
