Inter want to sign Lautaro Martinez to a new contract according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired earlier on today.

Barcelona have been courting the 23-year-old Argentine national team player for several months now but their planned offer of €65 million plus a player falls some way short of Inter’s asking price of €111 million for Lautaro, who has been with the club since 2018.

Inter want to sign Lautaro to a new and improved contract until 2025 that would come with an annual salary of €5 million plus add-ons, which could be higher in the event that his representatives agree to eliminate the release clause which is in his current contract.

During the recently concluded 2019/20 season, Lautaro made 49 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just shy of 3600 minutes on the field, the former Racing Club player scored a career high 21 goals and also tallied seven assists.
