Chelsea have rejected Inter’s first offer to sign Emerson Palmieri according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter had submitted a loan with option to buy offer for the Brazilian born Italian national team wing-back but the Premier League club have knocked it back.

Despite having been knocked back, Inter’s management team are hopeful that Chelsea’s stance regarding the conditions they have set out for Emerson to depart will lessen.

Inter have been linked with moving for Emerson for some time with it understood that Inter manager Antonio Conte, who was in charge at Chelsea when Emerson was signed, really wants to be reunited with him.

During the recently concluded season, 26-year-old Emerson, who is contracted to Chelsea until 2022, made 21 appearances across all competitions. In his time on the park, which totalled just over 1500 minutes, Emerson provided a single assist for his teammates.
