Bayern Munich have confirmed Ivan Perisic’s departure from their club following the expiration of his loan deal with them via a statement posted on their official club website.

Although Perisic’s loan deal expired on August 31, the Bavaria based club did not bid farewell to him immediately like they did with Alvaro Odriozola and Philippe Coutinho.

Reports in the media had stated that Bayern Munich wanted to try and keep the Croatian national team winger with the club but manager Hansi Flick confirmed earlier on today that Perisic would not be returning and Bayern Munich have now confirmed this.

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić said: “Ivan has behaved very professionally over the past year and he was an important member of our team and played his part in winning the Bundesliga, the DFB Cup and the Champions League. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Flick added: “”I’d like to thank Ivan for his performances and his contribution to winning the treble. We were very happy working with him. You could see Ivan’s qualities, in particular at the Champions League finals tournament in Lisbon.”

Perisic is now back at Inter who he has a contract with until the end of the 2021/22 season. Reports in the media have stated that there is a chance that Perisic could be reintegrated into the Inter team, a year on from being judged as out of the club’s project.

In a post to social media platform Twitter, the Bundesliga champions stated: “Ivan Perisic will return to Inter Milan after his one-year loan spell. Thank you for everything, Ivan.”
