Monaco are weighing up making an offer for Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Monaco manager Niko Kovac has taken a liking to his compatriot and not long ago he recommended that Brozovic be signed to club management.

Monaco were prepared to make a €22 million offer for the Croatian national team player but are now evaluating making a higher offer than that.

Inter are looking to bring in N’Golo Kante from Chelsea and need to raise funds through player sales in order to afford him and in this regard Brozovic is regarded as one of the most expendable players in the team who can bring in a lot of cash.

Brozovic has a €60 million release clause in his Inter contract but Inter could accept a €40 million offer for Brozovic, a sum of money that would go a very long way in helping them afford €50 million rated Kante.

The report states that Inter would even be open to doing a swap deal with Chelsea involving Brozovic and Kante even if for the time being it is a difficult hypothesis.

The report concludes that Monaco are willing to make a sacrifice to satisfy Kovac and Inter are in a hurry to raise cash to go all out to sign Kante.
