Inter midfielder Joao Mario has no intention of returning to Italy as he believes his time with the Nerazzurri is done, amidst links to both Zenit and Spanish clubs, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how the 27-year-old Portuguese midfielder did not show up at the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile earlier this week, with his reason being family matters.
The Nerazzurri are waiting to sell the player, hoping for an adequate offer to arrive. In the meantime, the 27-year-old remains in Portugal.
Joao Mario considers his time at Inter to be over and is now waiting for a new club, the report continues, with Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg interested, as well as some clubs in Spain asking for information about the player.
The 27-year-old made 22 appearances across all competitions last season whilst on loan with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow.
