Achraf Hakimi has shared his delight at how he has started life at Inter after grabbing another assist and his first goal in the Nerazzurri’s 5-2 success over Benevento this evening.
The Moroccan wing-back, who is a Summer transfer window acquistion of Inter’s, made his first start and assisted Romelu Lukaku’s first goal after just 28 seconds. He then provided a hockey assist for Roberto Gagliardini’s goal before scoring himself just before half time after Lukaku had grabbed himself another.
“I am very happy for everything, I am adapting well and I am learning what the coach is asking of me. It has been a very positive start,” he explained to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the full time whistle at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.
The former Real Madrid player went on to speak about how he is already used to playing as a wing-back due to his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.
“I was already playing in a similar system at Dortmund, I know how to play in this position and my teammates are helping me a lot to learn as quickly as possible.”
He was then asked about Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title this season to which he responded: “Let’s work for this, we have a squad suitable for winning.”
Since joining Inter, Hakimi has made two appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored a single goal and tallied two assists.
