Former Inter midfielder Borja Valero has reflected on what it was like for him to return to San Siro and take on Inter this past weekend.

Valero came on in the second half of the match and played 29 minutes against Inter, who ran out 4-3 winners in what was a thrilling seven goal game between the two clubs.

“I got a very special welcome at the Inter match and I am proud of what I achieved as a player and as a person,” Valero explained in an interview with Fiorentina’s official Twitter profile ahead of their upcoming match at home to Fiorentina.

Valero joined Inter in the Summer of 2017 from La Viola and left Inter when his contract came to an end at the end of August and upon his Inter release he completed a return to Fiorentina, where he had previously played for five years between the years of 2012 and 2017.

During his three year spell with Inter, veteran former Spanish national team player Valero made 100 appearances across all competitions, in which he scored five goals.
