Former Inter defender Francesco Colonnese discussed the Nerazzurri’s tough 1-1 draw against Lazio earlier today in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio 24 on the show ‘Tutti Convocati’.
“Today Inter dropped two points. They played against a strong team like Lazio, but the match was targeted. Perisic was not great, he did not look at the man, a mistake that the team paid dearly for because they had the game in their hands.
“It is important that some certainties are not undermined even if they dropped two points today. Vidal had an excellent match. He knows how to play football, he knows how to be in the right position.
“Today he was the best. Barella as well, he put in a lot of effort.”
Inter started off the match against Lazio slowly, before 23-year-old Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 30th minute. The Nerazzurri were in control until Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic scored an equaliser early in the second half, setting up a tense final 30 minutes.
First, Lazio striker Ciro Immobile was sent off for violent conduct, before Italian midfielder Stefano Sensi suffered the same fate 17 minutes later. The game ended in a draw, a fair reflection of the result.
The Milanese club have continued their unbeaten start to the season, after winning their first two games against Fiorentina and newly promoted Benevento.
Inter’s next game is against Genoa on the 17th September, after the international break. Sensi will miss the game due to suspension.
