Sporting Lisbon and Torino are both interested in signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario but the player’s high wages are the problem, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews earlier today.
The report details how the Nerazzurri are open to sending out the 27-year-old Portuguese midfielder out on loan with a buy option attached, and are even willing to pay a third of his salary.
Mario earns around €2.7 million net per season with the Nerazzurri, figures far too expensive for Sporting. The player himself isn’t convinced about a return to his homeland after a disappointing few years away from Portugal.
Torino are pushing to sign Joao Mario and are hoping to provide coach Marco Giampaolo with a quality midfielder with accurate passing. The Portuguese midfielder isn’t too fond of Serie A but is considering the offer regardless.
The player disappointed on loan with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow last season.
