Danish national team manager Kasper Hjulmand has revealed that he is convinced that Christian Eriksen will be back performing at the level everyone knows he can perform at.
Since joining Inter Eriksen has largely struggled to perform to expectations with him very rarely managing to perform to the best of his abilitites in an Inter shirt thus far.
The Danish national team attacking midfielder has struggled to cement a place in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s starting line-up since his arrival in the January transfer window from Tottenham Hotspur in a circa €20 million deal on a four and a half year contract.
“Why doesn’t he play? He is an extraordinary player, I think he can survive everything in his career. I think whatever happens, we will see him again at his highest level. His quality hardly goes down,” Hjulmand began an interview with Danish news outlet Politiken.
Hjulmand, who has been in charge of Denmark since this July, then went on to admit that he is unsure as to what is going on between Eriksen and Conte.
“Conte and Eriksen must know themselves what exactly is going on. If I say anything more than that, it would be a mere guess and I’d rather stay away from it.”
Since Eriksen joined Inter, he has scored four goals and provided three assists in 28 appearances across all competitions to date.
