Inter president Steven Zhang has left Milan to return to his native China according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
His trip to his homeland is due to his commitments to Suning and in a bid to close a deal with a new main shirt sponsor for Inter.
Current main shirt sponsor Pirelli will remain Inter’s sponsors in some capacity but their name will no longer be worn on the front of the club’s shirts. An international company are likely to takeover from Pirelli as Inter’s main shirt sponsors and Chinese companies Hisense and Evergrande are in pole position to takeover from them.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that Zhang will miss the upcoming Milan derby against AC Milan on October 17 and will not return to Italy until the end of the Novemeber, when the club’s annual shareholders meeting will take place.
