It’s been a rough year for many football teams across the world. Empty stadiums, and a few sick players made for a disheartening 2020. Football fans and punters all over the world quenched their thirst with online games and fiction soccer.

We are positive you tried to get your friends and family over for a game or two, but nothing beats going to the stadium to watch a game of footie. Now that the 2020/2021 football season is underway, teams like Inter Milan are taking no prisoners.

Let’s check out some trending news considering Inter.

1. Milan Skriniar’s Future

Tottenham Hotspurs have been linked to this talented player as they eagerly seek to bring him into the squad. Inter’s director claims that the valuable player will not be exiting their team just yet.

Inter Milan had been trying to get a decent buyout for the player, and it’s reported they are seeking upwards of €50 million. It remains to be seen if Tottenham’s bids will pan out eventually. That being said, it’s reported that Hotspur still seeks to bring in the talented player.

2. Lautaro Martinez

The magnificent Inter Milan striker has a contract running until the end of June 2023 with the Nerazzurri, but talks are underway to renegotiate a new contract. It’s claimed the new contract may include a pay raise, one that Barca won’t be too happy about.

The Barcelona side had sought the player, but the £90 million price tag proved extravagant. With 21 goals in 49 appearances for the previous season, it’s clear to see why Inter Milan will do anything to retain him.

3. COVID-19 Infections In Inter’s Squad

In other more pressing news regarding Inter Milan players, it has been confirmed that Milan Skriniar, Iounut Radu, Ashley Young and Alessandro Bastoni have all tested positive for the coronavirus.

This sets the team back quite a bit, considering they are bound to miss out on the upcoming Derby, and also their initial Champions League game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Along with this hiccup, the team may experience even more setbacks as two more other players tested positive for the virus. Roberto Gagliardini and Radja Nainggolan are confirmed to have caught the disease, bringing the tally to 6. This will undoubtedly leave the squad wanting in terms of midfielders and defenders.

4. Titles On The Horizon

A player who seems to set to bring Inter Milan closer to winning titles is Achraf Hakimi. According to Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte, the young and talented player is important for the team’s hope for a future filled with titles.

These suggestions were made after their win against Benevento. Hakimi created opportunities for Lukaku while setting the pace for other goals during the same game. The team seems wanting in terms of creating harmony between players for much-needed goals and wins, this season.

Hakimi is perceived to be a sound investment for the team this year. The Nerazzurri hopes that will be the case.

Top Players Winning Awards

Last season Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku scored a record breaking 34 goals during the competitions. He scored in 6 games at a late stage in the Europa League as Inter made it to the final. This feat earned him the coveted Europa League Player of the Season.

Young & Nostalgic

At the ripe age of 35, Ashley Young has traced his roots back to Watford with nostalgia and wishes he could return if possible. The Inter Milan player stated he would jump at the opportunity to go back to Watford in a heartbeat. Whether talks are underway for this emotional return remains to be seen.
