Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that there were clubs who made approaches to sign Christian Eriksen on loan in the final few days of the recently concluded transfer window.
The Danish national team player has very much struggled since arriving at Inter in the most recent January transfer window and was linked with a departure from the Nerazzurri during the course of the transfer window just past.
“There were teams that would have taken him on loan in the final days of the transfer market, but neither Inter nor the player wanted to go with this formula,” Di Marzio explained whilst present in the studios of Sky Sport Italia earlier on this evening.
“Could he leave in January? We will see how the market develops and whether there will be economic resources or not. I believe not.
“It will be necessary to see from now to January what his employment will be. If from now to January Eriksen does not enter Conte’s plans, it will be necessary to understand if the loan can be a solution. Otherwise he will end the season at Inter and we will see calmly at the end of the season.”
Eriksen joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur on a four and a half year contract. Eriksen has very seldom performed to expectations when wearing the Nerazzurri shirt thus far.
He has made 28 appearances across all competitions to date, two of which have come this season. Overall he has scored four goals and provided three assists for his teammates.
