Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has explained the reasoning behind Inter’s decision to not sign Sandro Tonali in the recently closed Summer transfer window.
Inter had been strongly linked with the highly rated Italian national team midfielder for a considerable amount of time, were widely reported to have agreed personal terms with the player and looked set to welcome him to the club.
Inter however gave up on signing Tonali and this led to him moving from Brescia to Inter’s city rivals AC Milan and Di Marzio has explained why Inter gave up.
“Inter would have signed him, then they saw that there was no longer the possibility of making that type of investment and gave up,” he explained whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, a short time ago.
Tonali has played in all six of AC Milan’s games to date this season but in his 165 minutes on the field, the 21-year-old sensation has failed to score any goals or contribute any assists for his teammates.
