Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose has sang the praises of Inter ahead of their Champions League group stage opener against the Nerazzurri club, a game which he and his team are well aware just how difficult it will be.
“Inter are an absolute top team, with a high individual quality,” he explained to the gathered media at the pre-match press conference which was held earlier on today.
“The team has a well-defined line under the guidance of Antonio Conte, the game is built on Lukaku, their best player. As in every match of the group that awaits us we will try to exploit our possibilities, but we know it will be a difficult task.”
Rose, who, like Inter manager Antonio Conte is into his second year in charge at the club, then spoke on the number of absences that Inter have to deal with.
“There are many strong players in the squad, some of whom are also known in the Bundesliga. Although the club has been affected by the Coronavirus, a strong team has always presented itself on the pitch.”
He then went on to speak about Valentino Lazaro, who is on loan at them from Inter, but will not get the chance to play against his parent club due to him being on the sidelines due to injury: “He confirmed the things we saw when he wasn’t our player. Tino is enthusiastic about the club and the team.”
He then spoke on the club’s decision to finish their preparations at BORUSSIA-Park rather than have a training session at San Siro: “We decided to train this morning at BORUSSIA-Park. When we go to the stadium tomorrow, we will have big plans for the match.”
In conclusion, he further sang the praises of Inter: “For me they are one of the best teams in Europe. They always play three at the back, while in midfield they sometimes vary things. Antonio Conte is a coach who has clear concepts that his players try to express in the best possible way.”
