IC Markets potential sponsorship of Inter could be in jeopardy according to a report from Italian news outlet Calcio e Finanza.

The Italian government authority responsible for regulating the Italian securities market, Commissione Nazionale per le Società e la Borsa (CONSOB), have blocked IC Markets website in Italy due to the illegal offering of financial services.

Inter had already signed an agreement with IC Markets, an Australian based online retail forex and contract for difference broker, to become the club’s first shirt sleeve sponsor which would have seen Inter earn €4.5 million, €4.8 million and €5 million for the financial years ending June 30 2021, 2022 and 2023 respectively, in addition to bonuses.

Inter have not announced anything with regard to the signing of any agreement with IC Markets and this report explains that the delay is due to the intervention of CONSOB and the intervention from CONSOB could well mean that IC Markets do not become Inter’s shirt sleeve sponsor.
