Italian Journalist Matteo Marani: “Christian Eriksen Unable To Make An Impact Against Parma”

Italian journalist Matteo Marani discussed Inter’s painful 2-2 draw against Parma earlier tonight when speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“Last year Lukaku missed two games and Inter won them and this is sharpening the limits of this team. Today de Vrij made mistakes, a player who has made the difference, Lautaro made mistakes.

“In my opinion in this Inter the two or three most important players are inaccurate. They get to the outside of the area or they miss the pass, or they waste the chance, or they are not very clear.”

He highlighted how the Nerazzurri took significantly more shots than the Gialloblu in the game but failed to score more than twice.

“Inter shot 25 times against Parma’s five, it is a dominant amount that does not find result because they are inaccurate when they are close to the goal and at the back, they make too serious mistakes.”

Finally, Marani criticised the performance of both Christian Eriksen and Inter as a whole.

“Eriksen today unfortunately was not able to make an impact, the chance to make a difference was great. Inter made mistakes in the key moments, they have a very difficult schedule.”

The Milanese club’s upcoming two games are both even more difficult and important than today’s, as they will face Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League next week before facing Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta next weekend.

Inter are currently fifth in the league after six games, and risk dropping a little down the table depending on tomorrow’s results, with Juventus set to play and only being two points behind.

The Nerazzurri, despite their dominance over the Gialloblu, found themselves 2-0 down after only 62 minutes, before Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic found a goal in the 64th minute.

Croatian forward Ivan Perisic then found an equaliser in the dying minutes of the game, securing a point for the Nerazzurri.
