Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi criticised Italian referee Marco Piccinini in a post on his Twitter page after Inter’s painful 2-2 draw against Parma.
The report details how the Nerazzurri dominated the Gialloblu throughout the game, but only managed to scrape a draw despite having 25 shots compared to Parma’s five.
The disappointing result means that Inter are still fifth in the league table after six games, but risk dropping down the table a little depending on tomorrow’s results, with rivals Juventus only two points behind.
Antonio Conte’s side will need to bounce back ahead of their next game against Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League, before they face Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta next weekend.
Both the Milanese club and Real Madrid have failed to win a game in the Champions League so far this season, and so next week’s game is crucial for both sides if they want to progress to the next round.
Pistocchi commented on Piccinini and the fact that he missed the penalty for Ivan Perisic in a Tweet, saying:
“Today on TV everyone is bewildered by the usage of VAR. In fact, if a referee who has a perfect view, free, behind Balogh and Perisic, who does not give a penalty kick then the problem is not VAR. The problem is who allowed Piccinini into the Serie A.”
