Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta discussed Inter’s frustrating 2-2 draw against Parma and the mistakes of referee Marco Piccinini when speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.
“This is abnormal because this is penalty. They both made mistakes, not only the referee. Luckily for Inter those teams that on paper are opponents, are in trouble.
“Inter’s opponents are not doing any better. Of course, I expected something more, especially from certain players. Today de Vrij made mistakes on both goals.”
Inter are still fifth in the table after six games, and risk dropping a little down the table depending on tomorrow’s results.
Coach Antonio Conte will be looking to bounce back ahead of next week’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid on Tuesday, before they face Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta next weekend.
The Milanese side have started the season in disappointing fashion, only winning three of their first six league games.
Conte’s side dominated the Gialloblu throughout the game, but found themselves 2-0 down after 62 minutes.
Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic managed to bring one back, before compatriot Ivan Perisic found the equaliser in the dying minutes of the game, securing a key point for the club.
Inter have not beaten Parma at the San Siro since April 2013.
