Inter are working on getting a deal in place for Genoa’s Nicolo Rovella according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Rovella’s contract with Genoa is due to expire at the end of this season and Genoa do not want to lose him for nothing. Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has good relations with the player’s agent Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Riso and it is possible that Rovella could sign a new deal, on the condition that he is sold.

Juventus have enquired about signing him but are currently more focused on signing Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli whilst Inter hope to sign him and then leave him on loan at Genoa to continue his development.

Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio had positive first contact with Rovella’s agent Riso and the Nerazzurri are preparing themselves to make a move.

This season the highly rated 18-year-old central midfielder has made three appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, he has failed to make any goal contributions.
