Legendary Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has shared his belief that many of the goals that Inter have conceded early on this season have similarities to one another.

Inter were able to boast one of the most solid defences on the continent last season and were very hard to get by but that has not been the case for Inter this term who have conceded multiple goals in several games already in their first nine games of the season.

Inter’s poor defending has, without doubt, played a part in their worse than expected start to the 2020/21 season across all competitions.

“Conte and his staff are analysing the goals conceded and there is a feeling that they are alike, everyone looks at the ball and the action and forgets about the player who is in the box,” Ferri explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 show ‘Tutto Convocati’ earlier on today.

“When a team is well balanced and plays modern football like Atalanta in which everyone works to recover the ball they find themselves in less difficulty, when the defensive line of the teams is isolated, individual difficulties emerge.”

In Serie A, Inter are sitting in sixth place after six games and are trailing league leaders AC Milan by five points. They meanwhile sit bottom in their Champions League group stage having picked up just two points from their opening three games in the competition.
