Inter are one of six Serie A clubs that have had players blocked by the Local Health Authority from having players called up to their national teams, according to a report from Italian media outlet Gianlucadimarzio.com earlier today.
The report details how the players of Inter, Fiorentina, Genoa, Lazio, Roma and Sassuolo have been placed in fiduciary isolation, due to positive cases of Covid-19 at their respective clubs.
The players will not be allowed to join their national team until given approval by the respective Local Health Authority, the report continues.
All national federations, not just the FIGC, will have to contact the relevant Local Health Authority to get the green light for their players.
Of the 41 players called up for the Italian national team, 16 will have to remain at home for the time being, including Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The most recent positive case of Covid-19 at Inter was Italian goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.
